Plantar Fasciitis
Most common cause of heel pain.  It is caused by the inflammation of
The thick band of tissue at the bottom of the foot and connects your heel bone to the toes.   Symptoms are stabbing pains that usually occur with your first steps, pain at the top of the foot, and numbness in the feet. Pain may return after long periods of standing or after rising from sitting. Plantar fasciitis is more common in runners, people with flat feet, Overweight, or wearing shoes with inadequate support.

Risk factors include:
Age: common between ages 40-60
Certain types of exercise: running, ballistic jumping, dancing, aerobic exercise
Foot mechanics: being flat footed
Occupations that keep you on your feet: spending hours on your feet walking or standing on hard surfaces.

Complications:
Chronic heel pain, heel spurs, foot, knee, hip, and back pain.

Treatments:
IASTM: also known as Graston technique to reduce inflammation on the plantar fasciitis
Ultrasound therapy: Breaks adhesions of the fasciitis and reduces inflammation
Laser therapy: reduce inflammation of the plantar fasciitis
Customized orthotics: supports the arch and reduces pressure on the plantar fasciitis Foot adjustments: adjusting the bones of the feet will help reduce the  pressure on the joints of the feet and reduce inflammation.
