Paleo Recipe

Ground Turkey and Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms
Prep time: 10 minutes    Cook Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 6 large portobello mushroom caps, cleaned and gills removed (gently scrape it out with a spoon)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 pound ground turkey
  • Handful of baby spinach leaves
  • 6-8 grape tomatoes, sliced (and roasted if you prefer)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste (Italian seasoning would be great too!)
Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium high heat, melt about 2 teaspoons of coconut oil. Place the mushrooms into the skillet and let cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Flip them halfway through. Set aside on a plate.
  2. In the same skillet, add the onion and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes. Then add the ground turkey to the pan and break it up into small pieces with a spatula or wooden spoon. Cook until it's all cooked through. Sprinkle salt and pepper and other seasonings, if using.
  3. Remove from heat and add the baby spinach leaves. The residual heat should wilt the spinach easily.
  4. To assemble: use a small spoon and scoop the turkey spinach filling into the caps of the mushrooms. Top with grape tomatoes. Serve warm!

Seasonal Allergies

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Allergy Season!!!
All the cars are sprinkled with a nice orange dusting, the trees and grass are just begging you to take deep breath. Allergy season is in full effect. But what can you do about it?
While there are some medications out there which help control your reaction to allergens, many of these medicines can have side-effects that are worse than what they are designed to relieve. So is there a way that you can control your body's reaction to allergens without harmful chemicals and side-effects? The simple answer is, yes.
Everyone has a different reaction to allergens and there are many different types of allergens out there.
Some people may have a sensitivity to pollen where others may not or may have much less of a reaction. Some people will begin to sneeze, some will get puffy eyes, some will get hives, and some will get a combination of these. Antronex is a safe and effective way to inhibit your body's natural reaction, allowing you to breath easy and stop suffering.
Allergens release histamines which cause your body to respond in different ways. There are two ways to reduce the symptoms from these. First, is to manage the response to histamines. Second, is to encourage the functioning of the liver. The liver is the key organ in ridding the body of histamines. Most medications block histamines but don't get rid of them so the drug wears off and you are back to square one. Antronex works on both accounts, helping to block the effects of the allergens and promote liver function to rid your body of the allergens.
If you suffer from seasonal allergies or just allergies in general, pick up a bottle of Antronex today to see the benfits for yourself!

Better Swing, Less Pain

I had the pleasure of working at The Villages Golf Festival this weekend representing Legacy Clinic and being the only Titleist Performance Institute Certified chiropractor at the event.

Titleist Performance Institute is an educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. One thing that really surprised me was how many golfers were spending money on a “magical” golf aid seeking greater distance but were unwilling to invest time and money into their own body to get it. The most common thing we see happen to golfers who receive regular chiropractic care is the ability to hit it further and have more stamina throughout the round.

Most professional golfers have a chiropractor they see to ensure that their whole body is performing optimally. If one area or muscle of someones body is not working properly, it can cause other parts of the body to overcompensate, which can lead to pain and dysfunction. If your lower back or pelvis is not moving properly, then you will be restricted on the amount of speed and distance you can generate. If these areas are not moving correctly you put extra stress on your spine, which can lead to a multitude of spinal related conditions.

If you are looking to improve your health,  get more distance and a better swing, then it is time to get under regular chiropractic care - just like the professionals do.

Trigger Ppint Acupuncture

What Are Trigger Points?
Trigger points are more commonly known as "knots" in our muscles. When there are too many of these "knots" it is called Myofascial Pain Syndrome. This can cause an alarming amount of pain and can often occur without warning. They tend to cluster around an injury and they can be a major factor in back and neck pain.
What Is Trigger Point Acupuncture?
Trigger Point Acupuncture (TPA) is a technique wehre a therapist will insert tiny needles into the affected muscles causing them to loosen and relax. Trigger points are believed to be micro-spasms in muscle tissue. By inserting the needle into the tissue, it temporarily blocks the signal controlling your muscle to spasm. Without this signal, your muscle is free to return to its natural state.
Why choose this method?
This method is great for relieving pain caused by trigger points. Those who have chronic severe pain may find that it doesn't completely relieve the pain but lessens it to a greater extent than other options. Those with minor aches and "knots" can usually find whole relief from pain and can prevent the reoccurance.
